What is Know Your Vehicle (KYV) verification?
   
  It is mandatory that all FASTags issued, are associated with clear images of the vehicle and the tag. Hence, you require to submit clear images of the following:
   
 
  1. The front and side views of your Vehicle
    1. While taking the image from the front, license plate number and the FASTag sticker affixed to the vehicle should be clearly visible, along with the edges of the Vehicle
    2. While taking the image from the side, edges of the Vehicle both from the front side as well as the back side should be clearly visible
  2. FASTag sticker affixed on the windshield of your vehicle
    1. Take the image of the sticker from inside the vehicle after affixing FASTag sticker on the windshield. The Tag Serial Number on the sticker should be clearly visible
  3. Registration Certificate (RC)
    1. Upload the front and back images of the RC in the fields ‘RC Copy Front’, ‘RC Copy Back’. You may choose to upload Digital RC copies obtained from DigiLocker or mParivahan apps.
Steps for KYV verification
   
 
  1. to visit the customer login portal
  2. Login to the portal with your user credentials. To create your user credentials, first ‘Register’ on the portal
  3. Click on ‘Upload KYV (know your vehicle) images’
  4. Click on ‘Select’ for the vehicle number corresponding to which the KYV verification has to be done
  5. Your details for ‘Customer ID’, ‘Tag account No’, ‘Tag Serial No.’, ‘License Plate No.’, ‘HexTag ID’, ‘Vehicle Class’ will be auto populated. Verify the details.

  6. ‘Upload’ the images of the following:

    ❖ RC Copy:
     
    I. Upload the front and back images of the RC in the fields ‘RC Copy Front’, and ‘RC Copy Back’
    II. If the RC document provided is found to be forged in any manner, the Bank will levy a penalty
      for image references
       
    ❖ FASTag sticker:
     
    I. Affix the FASTag sticker on the windshield of your vehicle. If the FASTag is not affixed on its designated vehicle, the Bank will levy a penalty
    II. Take an image of the sticker from inside the vehicle
    III. The tag serial number on the sticker should be clearly visible
    IV. Upload this image in the ‘FASTag sticker’ field
      for image references
       
    ❖ Vehicle:
     
    I. Take a vehicle image from the front. The license plate number and the FASTag sticker affixed to the vehicle should be clearly visible along with the edges of the Vehicle
    II. Take a vehicle image from the side. The edges of the vehicle both from the front side as well as the back side should be clearly visible
    III. The Vehicle image from the front should be uploaded in the ‘Vehicle Front’ field
    IV. The Vehicle image from the side should be uploaded in the ‘Vehicle Side’ field
      for image references
       
    Note: Specifications for image upload:
     
    ♦ All images should be very clear
    ♦ Each Image size should not be more than 2MB
    ♦ The images should be uploaded either in PDF or JPG format
       
  7. Click on ‘Submit’
  8. You will receive a confirmation message on the screen and the documents uploaded (in Step 5) will be sent to the Bank for verification
You will also note that the statuses against the RC, FASTag sticker and Vehicle (for which images have been uploaded) will show as ‘Approval Pending’.
   
Important:
   
The processing will be done within 3 working days from the date of uploading the images for KYV verification. E.g., suppose you have uploaded the images on Dec 06, 2024, KYV will be processed by Dec 10, 2024.
   
Once approved, your KYV verification will be complete and the statuses against the RC, FASTag sticker and Vehicle will be displayed as ‘APPROVED’
   
If declined due to improper documents given to the Bank, your KYV verification will not be completed and your Tag will be hot listed (you will not be able to use the FASTag at toll plaza). Statuses against RC, FASTag sticker and Vehicle will be displayed as ‘REJECTED’. You will need to do the KYV formalities again. Once the same is accepted by the Bank, your FASTag will be activated

As per regulations, it is mandatory to complete KYV verification. You need to ensure that all images uploaded are clear and correct. The KYV images will be verified by the Bank and if any application is declined based on the Bank’s sole discretion, your FASTag will be hotlisted (you will not be able to use your FASTag at the Toll Plaza and you must pay penalty imposed by regulatory authorities. To remove the FASTag from the hotlist, you need to upload the correct documents again (through the steps given above). Only once verified and approved, your FASTag will be removed from the hotlist.

1. I am an existing ICICI Bank FASTag holder. Do I need to complete KYV and what are the steps?
Yes, you need to complete your KYV formalities. To complete your KYV formalities, refer to the steps for KYV verification given above.
2. I have just completed my KYV formalities. How do I know the status of my KYV? Steps to check KYV status:
  • Click here to log in to the FASTag customer portal
  • Log in to the portal with your user credentials
  • Click on ‘Upload KYV (Know Your Vehicle) images’
  • Click on ‘Select’ for the Vehicle Number corresponding to which the KYV verification has been done
  • Statuses against the RC, FASTag sticker and Vehicle (for which images have been uploaded) will show as:
    1. ‘Approval Pending’: Still in verification process with the Bank and review is pending
    2. ‘Approved’: KYV verification has been completed and approved
    3. ‘Rejected’: KYV verification has been declined and you need to upload the KYV verification documents again by following the same steps.

You will also receive an SMS on your FASTag-registered mobile number once it has been processed by the Bank.

3. My KYV status is declined. Will my FASTag work at toll plazas? What do I have to do to get FASTag working?

No, your FASTag will not work at toll plazas as it has been hotlisted. To get it working again, the Bank must remove it from the hotlist. You need to upload the correct documents (through the steps given above). Only once verified and approved, your FASTag will be removed from the hotlist and will be operative at toll plazas.

4. What will happen if I upload incorrect/forged RC?

If the RC document provided is found to be incorrect or forged in any manner, the Bank will levy a penalty.

5. What will happen if I upload incorrect/forged Vehicle and FASTag sticker images?

The FASTag sticker should be properly affixed to the windshield of the designated vehicle while taking the image. The Bank will levy a penalty, if the FASTag sticker image is forged or it is not affixed properly to the windshield of the designated vehicle.

6. For my KYV verification, I have taken the image of the vehicle from the front side without affixing the FASTag on the windshield of the vehicle. Will my KYV be declined?

Yes. Your KYV will be declined and you will need to upload your KYV documents again. Refer to the steps given above for KYV verification.

7. I had purchased FASTag at the toll plaza and the images of my vehicle were taken to be uploaded for KYV. However, I have just received an SMS saying that it has been declined. Why is that?

This is because, your KYV has been declined at the Bank’s end and it has been hotlisted (FASTag will not work at toll plazas). To remove the FASTag from the hotlist, you need to re-upload your documents for KYV verification. Documents will be processed within 3 working days from the date of uploading the images for KYV verification. E.g., suppose you have uploaded the images on Dec 06, 2024, KYV will be processed by Dec 10, 2024. Only once verified and approved, your FASTag will be removed from the hotlist and the same will work at the toll plazas.

8. My KYV has been declined and I would like to close my FASTag account. How to close the FASTag?

To close your FASTag account, follow these simple steps:

  • Click here to log in to the FASTag customer portal
  • Log in to the portal with your user credentials
  • Select ‘Customer Service’ --> ‘Close account’
  • Agree to the Terms and click on the ‘Accept’ button
  • Select the Vehicle No. for which you would like to close the account
  • Enter the ‘Reason for closing the account’ and enter the ‘Document details’ and ‘Bank Account Details’
  • Select the ‘Close account’ button
  • FASTag account will be closed within <15> days from the date of approval of the closure request and any balance amount will be refunded to the Bank Account for which details have been provided.
9. I have re-uploaded my KYV documents, when will my FASTag be activated?

Your documents will be verified by the Bank. Once approved, your KYV verification will be completed and the statuses against the RC, FASTag sticker and Vehicle will be displayed as ‘Approved’ on the portal. Also, your FASTag will be activated.

10. I had already uploaded my RC and it had been approved by the Bank. Do I need to upload again while completing my KYV formality?

No, you do not have to upload your RC again if you have already uploaded it and the status for the RC is showing as ‘Approved’ on the portal.

11. How to affix FASTag on the windshield of the Vehicle?

To affix the FASTag sticker on the windshield of your Vehicle, follow these simple steps:

  1. Ensure that the Vehicle’s windshield is clean and dry
  2. Remove the adhesive tape from the Tag
  3. Place the Tag in the centre of the windshield from inside so that it is behind the rear-view mirror.
